Do you have an eye for beautiful clothing, do you enjoy bringing order to chaos, and do you care about sustainability? Then you might be the volunteer we’re looking for!
About us
West Kleedt Aan in Amsterdam Nieuw-West is a foundation with a big heart. We collect clothing for people who need it and for anyone who wants to live more sustainably. With a focus on reuse, dignity, and sustainability, we give clothing a second life – in our give-away shops, at various markets, and in our atelier.
What will you do?
At our storage facility in Nieuw-West you’ll help sort through donated clothing:
• Assess whether items are suitable for our shop, markets, atelier, or for recycling.
• Keep the storage space tidy and organized.
• Make sure clothing quickly finds the right destination and reaches the people who need it.
The work can sometimes be physical – bags of clothing can be heavy, and the warehouse is a shared space where it can get a bit dusty. But your effort makes a direct and meaningful impact.
You won’t be on your own: you’ll receive training, and we work with clear sorting guidelines.
What we offer
• No financial compensation, but as a volunteer you may take clothing home – with first choice from incoming items.
• A warm, inclusive atmosphere where your contribution is valued.
• The chance to make a real difference for both people and planet.
What we ask
• You are reliable and keep to agreements.
• You enjoy clothing and can assess whether something is still wearable.
• You like working in a small team or independently.
