Zaal 100, a beloved cultural hotspot in the heart of Amsterdam West, is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help out behind the bar! If you enjoy meeting people and being part of a vibrant arts community, this is the place for you.
About Zaal 100
For over forty years, Zaal 100 has been a home for unheard sounds and unconventional performances — from jazz to punk, from blues to electronic music, and everything in between.
Alongside live music, we also host theatre, dance, poetry, film nights, exhibitions, meetings, and rehearsals.
Serving both the local neighbourhood and artists from around the world, Zaal 100 is a unique cultural space that celebrates experimentation, artistic freedom, and talent development. Our atmosphere is open, relaxed, and adventurous — a place where creativity thrives.
Your Role
As a bar volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming environment for our visitors and artists. The bar offers a small but well-chosen range of (soft) drinks, and since there’s no tap, the work itself is simple and enjoyable.
Performances are typically held in the evenings, with some daytime events on weekends. Out of respect for our neighbours, shows usually finish by 11:30 PM. We are looking for volunteers who are available either on weekdays or weekends.
Who You Are
We’re looking for volunteers who are:
• Friendly, social, and responsible
• Comfortable working independently
• Interested in music, art, and culture
• Open-minded and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds
It’s a plus if you speak more than one language. To bring variety to our volunteer team, we especially welcome applicants aged 20–50.
What We Offer
Zaal 100 provides a warm, informal, and inspiring environment where you can meet a wide range of people. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Attend performances free of charge
• Enjoy drinks at staff prices
• Potentially use the space for your own rehearsals or performances
If this sounds like you, we’d be delighted to hear from you!
