Hola! Ready to share your Spanish language skills with the Amsterdam community?”At the Spaans Taal café , you can help them exercise their language skills. It is rewarding, inspiring work focused on group interaction and social connection.

What to expect: Forget the textbooks and whiteboards! Our Taalcafé is all about authentic connection in a cozy, informal setting. You’ll be sparking natural conversations and helping neighbours gain confidence in a relaxed, social atmosphere. A lead instructor provides simple tasks for participants to work on in small groups, supported by enthusiastic volunteers (facilitators) who are native Spanish speakers.
• When: Every Thursday.
• Time: 19:00 to 20:30.
• Where: Huis van de Wijk Buitenveldert
• Process: After signing up, there will be a brief introductory chat (by phone or in person) to get to know you.

Who are we?
The Huis van de Wijk Buitenveldert Community Center is an accessible meeting place in Amsterdam-Zuid where residents of all ages and backgrounds can connect, participate in activities, and support one another.
Our mission is to promote connection, participation, and social cohesion in the neighbourhood. We create spaces for social interaction, culture, and education, with special attention to residents at risk of social exclusion. We believe in a neighbourhood where everyone feels seen and heard.

Who are we looking for?
• You enjoy helping people to improve their Spanish (non-native speakers).
• You are committed and available on Thursday evenings.
• You enjoy meeting new people.
• You believe in contributing to the community.
• You enjoy talking to people of all types and ages.
We seek facilitators who are committed to our society. It is important to us that you aren’t just a native speaker, but that you also feel connected to the group. Continuity and commitment are essential to us.
