Come and provide a Lunch, offer with your colleagues at the Hofkerk (in east) for about 50 participants of Zonnebloem A’dam on April 17.

You can contribute with your department by offering lunch (e.g.: sandwich with toppings, drink and fruit), providing it or handing it out as a packed lunch when you return from a short holiday. What will you do? At about 9.30 am your team (5 – 10 people) will be welcomed and you will prepare lunch and from 11.30 am we expect the holidaymakers back. Then you can help with first handing out a cup of coffee and lunch, having lunch together and having a chat.

Then you can wave them goodbye and clean up the stuff, wash the dishes. We ask the team to choose lunch in advance, to do the shopping and to prepare and prepare it. Of course we can advise. Having lunch together and listening to the stories often provides new insights and increases awareness of the daily challenges our participants face.

You will hear the holiday stories of the participants first-hand and you will also see their happy and grateful faces. They can also tell you their story. Your attention is worth its weight in gold for these participants, who often have a hard time with their physical limitations. This activity is therefore not only a fun and connecting team experience, but also an opportunity to contribute to the social connection in the city. Vacation, something that everyone always thinks about easily, except if you are tied to a wheelchair, mobility scooter or walker. That is why Zonnebloem Amsterdam organizes a carefree Sunflower holiday in April every year. Together with our volunteers who are committed to participants with a physical disability. We are also organizing the short break in April 2026, but we have a limited budget to organize extra activities, such as a lunch afterwards.

Another option is to make a donation for lunch or activities during the holidays. And then to receive the participants when they return and to hear the stories.
