BOOST zoekt Engels docenten / BOOST is looking for English teachers
BOOST is an inclusive community space where newcomers with a refugee background come together with other Amsterdammers and a wide range of organizations to work on integration. This is done in an informal and accessible way. By participating in BOOST’s programme and activities, newcomers (re)build resilience and develop the skills, insights, and connections they need to take part fully in society.
Many participants at BOOST want to improve their English. In the language café, they expand their vocabulary and practice speaking, while in the lessons they learn about grammar and sentence structure. BOOST is not a formal language school; the lessons are intended to help people with learning the English language while they wait or prepare for other opportunities. Classes are offered at levels A1, A2, B1, and B2. Most groups work with the Cambridge English Empower method.
You will teach once a week to a fixed group of 10–15 participants. You will work quite independently, but there is regular coordination with other English teachers. At the moment, we are especially looking for teachers for beginner and intermediate groups (A1 and A2).
