Do you enjoy helping others and speaking Italian? We’re looking for an Italian-speaking shopping companion for an elderly Italian lady. / Ti piace aiutare gli altri e parlare italiano? Cerchiamo un accompagnatore per la spesa.

We’re looking for someone who can go out with the lady every Wednesday or Thursday to do the shopping. Together, you’ll pick out the best Italian products in the shop. After the shopping, you’ll have a cup of coffee at the lady’s home and have a chat.

What is a small effort for you is very valuable to her: as a shopping companion, you’ll help ensure she can live independently. You’ll also bring some cheer and a social moment into her week. In return, you’ll receive some fun, appreciation and the feeling that you really mean something to someone.

As a volunteer with Burenhulp, you’ll be in regular contact with the coordinator. Burenhulp supports you and organises regular volunteer meetings to share experiences and learn new things. You’re also welcome to attend Kerk & Buurt-wide events, such as the New Year’s meal, the Sinterklaas and Christmas drinks, and volunteer meetings.
