Helpdesk Volunteer Hushu House The Hushu House opened on December the 5th in Amsterdam Zuidoost. Hushu means: Help Us Help U. This is a place where people without residence papers can receive information and support. Various organizations in Amsterdam Zuidoost collaborate to warmly welcome individuals, listen to their stories, and answer questions about for example food, medical or legal help. They also provide support and refer them to other organizations if needed. Hushu House also offers warm showers, a place to wash clothes, rest areas, and courses. The Red Cross Amsterdam-Amstelland plays a coordinating role in this. If you enjoy helping visitors with their questions, the Hushu team is looking for you!

What will you do?

• Providing a listening ear to visitors with a help request
• Providing information about social and community services for undocumented residents of Amsterdam or residents in a vulnerable position
• Ensuring a warm handover of the help-seeker to partner organizations
• Light administrative tasks to maintain the structure of the helpdesk
