Volunteer Gardeners Wanted at the Asylum Seekers’ Centre in Amsterdam

Do you have a natural talent for gardening and a passion for making a difference?
Join us at The Present Foundation as part of our Growing Roots program — an initiative that brings nature and community together.

This year, we’ve created a welcoming green space at the AZC Willinklaan, complete with two small vegetable gardens and herb beds. It’s a place where asylum seekers can reconnect with nature, grow their own food, and build meaningful connections across cultures.
We’re currently looking for enthusiastic volunteer gardeners to help coordinate and maintain the garden one afternoon per week alongside another gardener and local residents.
Are you someone who:
• Loves gardening or has experience with vegetable gardens?
• Enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds?
• Wants to contribute to a project that brings nature and community together?
Then we’d love to hear from you!
What we offer:
• A warm and diverse community
• A volunteer allowance
• Reimbursement for travel expenses (for journeys over 12 km)
Interested?
Send us your short motivation email and help us grow a greener AZC Willinklaan!💚
