Sister Schools is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate audio-visual animator and/or video editor who can become part of our educational development digital team of volunteers both in Kenya & the Netherlands.
Task description:
Together with other professionals you will develop visual materials for the Digital Educational Exchange Platform for the Sister Schools Foundation.
Sister Schools promotes the use of technology and development of new skills to allow students from different backgrounds to understand and learn about each other’s cultures.
You will work together with the Platform coordinator and board member Collins Lidede and with developers from Kenya and other countries.
Working as a volunteer for Sister Schools can hopefully give you a sense of belonging and satisfaction for learning about the different realities and sharing your skills to expand the project, benefiting more students.
Skills & Qualifications:
The editor/animator works together with documentary filmmaker and founder of the organization Julia Strijland, who is hoping to get to know highly creative people with an intrinsic need to create good quality, innovative and meaningful visual materials.
This position requires a person with high proficiency in instructional design and visual media for both e-Learning and media production. Demonstrated high level production skills in eLearning and media production are required. This includes the ability to have proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Learning Management Systems, video production, audio production, animation and other related tools.
Responsibilities
Creating animations and video content for our website and other social media channels
Solving interesting education and training problems with creating attractive audio visual materials
Coordinating with the project manager and other team members to develop and deliver a coherent project vision from concept through to execution
Helping to design engaging, immersive, and effective learning experiences to instruct trainees and provide them with virtual hands-on experience to master required skills.
Requirements
Strong technology skills – i.e. Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Captivate, Animation etc… ), use of media and instructional design techniques
Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
Work independently and set priorities with direction and/or feedback from management and teammates
Ability to set and communicate clear expectations and deliver on them in a dynamic environment across multiple time zones and a diverse workforce
Educate, and evangelize instructional design frameworks for the next generation of experiential training
