At the Hof van Acta, you work with a small group of dedicated people on a piece of nature in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. At the Hof van Acta, you are more than welcome! Here you discover the power of nature and biodiversity, learn from each other, grow together and inspire others.
Come and meet us at the Hof van Acta Do you love being outdoors and working with your hands in nature? We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to help maintain and develop a former food forest, located near the old Slotervaart Hospital. Our hof is a place with fruit-bearing trees and shrubs, and together we make plans to make the green space even more beautiful.
What can you do with us?
• Maintenance of shrubs and trees
• Composting
• Working in the vegetable gardens
• Harvesting
• Working with dye plants
• Cleaning up waste and keeping the grounds tidy
• Contributing ideas about the future of the hof
• Specialising in an area that appeals to you
Learning and growing together Once a week, on Sunday afternoons, you work together with a group of enthusiastic people. These afternoons are not only meant for working, but also for meeting each other, sharing knowledge and making new plans. You have the space to explore what interests you and to learn how small interventions can make a big difference on the edge of the city.
Who are we looking for? Would you like to commit to our project for a longer period, after we have taken the time to get to know each other? Do you have an interest in and/or (some) experience with a food forest or permaculture? Or are you simply curious and eager to learn? Then you are welcome. The most important thing is that you enjoy being part of our engaged community.
Why get involved? You become part of a team working together towards a greener Amsterdam. You contribute to biodiversity, learn from others and have the space to develop your own interests within the project.
