Inspire, Teach, Empower: Volunteer online for Yazidi Students in Kurdistan IDP Camps
Make a Difference in Just 3 Hours a Week!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to use your English skills? We are seeking enthusiastic volunteer teachers to support Yazidi students through our online education program. Teach from home, work with students at any level, and help them build the language skills they need for education, employment, and a brighter future.
The commitment is just two online lessons per week (2 × 1.5 hours). Your open heart, patience, and willingness to help are what matter most . We teach all levels, from A0 to C+. More than half of our students are university students in Iraq, or already have a Bachelors. But their personalities do not compare to our Western students. The Yezidis are gentle, soft, non assertive.
Most still live in the IDP camps and Iraq continues not to be a safe homeland for them, and many hope to be accepted in other countries. Our big dream is to help the Yezidis to become the best English speakers in all of Iraq and the best English teachers in all of Iraq. So that those who stay in Iraq can teach their own people good English. (Whereas now they have been taught grammar, and how to pass tests, but they cannot function with it.)
