Evening Sewing & Handicraft Group Facilitator Wanted

Help us bring a new creative evening group to life at Dynamo Atelier 77.

Do you have a passion for sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery or other textile handicrafts? Do you enjoy sharing your creativity and bringing people together? We’d love to hear from you!

For about one and a half years, our evening sewing and handicraft group brought together creative people every week in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
After a successful run, the group naturally came to an end. Now we’re excited to start a new chapter and are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help build the next group together with us.

This group is about much more than sewing and handicrafts.
It’s a place where people meet, learn new skills, exchange ideas and inspire one another.
Social connection is just as important as the creative activity itself.

As the facilitator, you’ll have plenty of freedom to shape the group together with us.
From the projects and themes to the atmosphere and structure of the evenings—your ideas, creativity and preferences are at the heart of this new group.

What will you do?

– Help decide how the group takes shape together with us.
– Support participants with their sewing and/or handicraft projects.
– Share techniques, ideas and inspiration where needed.
– Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.
– Encourage participants to connect, learn from one another and enjoy being creative together.

About Dynamo Atelier 77

Dynamo Atelier 77 is a creative community hub in Amsterdam’s Rivierenbuurt, where local residents come together to explore art, culture and creativity while meeting new people.

Atelier 77 is a place where Dutch and international participants from across Amsterdam meet, connect and learn from one another through creativity.

The evening group is based at Atelier 77: a welcoming place where participants can work on their own sewing or handicraft projects, exchange ideas, inspire one another and simply enjoy a creative evening together. Beginners and experienced makers are equally welcome.

Who are we looking for?

– You have experience with sewing and/or textile handicrafts such as knitting, crocheting, embroidery or quilting.
– You enjoy sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
– You love bringing people together and creating a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
– You’re excited to help build a new group and make it your own.
– Teaching experience isn’t necessary—we value enthusiasm, patience and a welcoming attitude above all else.

* A volunteer allowance of €5.50 per 4-hour session.

When?

The group will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening (7:00–9:00 PM), depending on your availability. The start date is flexible and will be decided together.

Because this is a brand-new group, we’re looking for someone who is happy to commit to a regular evening for at least a few months to help the group grow and flourish.
