The Sparrow Habitat Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to assist our friendly team in our original, innercity house sparrow habitat. Under the guidance of the cheerful and experienced Jennifer, the habitat has been thoroughly reconstructed and maintained.
Your work will mainly consist of pruning, planting shrubs and trees, removing a dead tree, carry feed bags and put them into boxes and making paths safe by rearanging the stones. In addition, chores such as building a feeder or hanging nest boxes with a ladder. In the habitat, despite the chirping of the sparrows, there is a calm and friendly atmosphere where there is room and safety for everyone.

Respect for animals and nature are required. Kindness is also essential. Handyman/gardening experience is a plus but not a must. The rest can all be learned.

House sparrow is an endangered species, not only in the Netherlands but worldwide. This is due to human activity. You will help save an endangered species from extinction. This is not only a good cause but it is also important to get the ecological balance back in the Netherlands so that we can create a green, healthy world and as well as fight the climate crisis.
Once a week on Tuesday afternoon. If that really isn’t possible you can come on any day that suits you. The days may vary when a job needed to be done. Sometimes it is very busy, and then we really need to be able to count on you, then again there are quite days when nothing much needs to be done.
You qualify if you are able-bodied and have respect for animals.
