Want to help those with a low income to live in a more comfortable and warm house? The FIXbrigade visits low-income residents at home and provides free information on saving energy, but also implements small energy-saving measures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a student at the FIXbrigade you are always accompanied by an experienced fixer. You primarily work in practice, but through workshops you are also educated on important theory.
Tasks and activities:
– The replacing and applying of insulation material in houses
– The replacing of incandescent lamps with LED lighting
– Advising residents on workshops about reducing energy use

You consider yourself a handy person
You enjoy being around people.
You can easily adapt when you are in someone else’s house.
You think it is important to stick to your agreements.
You like helping people and enjoy learning new things.
You are available for a minimum of one day a week from 9am.
We offer several free workshops, which are developed by the Jungle. These workshops help to broaden your knowledge about insulation in houses.
WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
You are trained by an experienced teacher, and you will work in a nice team. But most importantly, you get to make a lot of people happy and thankful by making their home more comfortable and helping them lower their energy bills. Besides, you increase your chances in the labour market, because there is a high need for people who have knowledge concerning insulation and that can practically implement energy-saving measures.
WHAT IS THE ADDED VALUE OF THIS VOLUNTEER WORK?
You help to battle poverty. Because the prices on energy and gas keep growing, there are increasingly more people that experience troubles with paying their bills. You also help residents to make their home more comfortable. Many health complaints arise from poorly insulated and humid homes.
WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday from 9am until around 3pm.
You are available for a minimum of one day per week, and more days if possible.
