Nyingma Centrum Nederland, a Tibetan Buddhist center in the heart of Amsterdam, is looking for a skilled IT helpdesk volunteer. Help us optimize the conditions for our work in an inspiring environment with dedicated volunteers.

1. Job description:
In recent years, we have become increasingly dependent on the digital infrastructure for all our work, both hardware and software. Of course, we have a WIFI network, a computer network, and our volunteers work with Microsoft 365 and need support with that. All of this requires regular maintenance, process coordination, security, and expert troubleshooting.
Are you a versatile IT professional who understands MS 365 and/or easily learns software? Then we’re looking for you!

2. Required knowledge or skills:
Understanding of the MS 365 environment
Preferably also familiarity with the MS 365 admin environment
Patient in answering questions
Understanding of Windows computers and the ability to install them
Willingness to participate in brainstorming about cybersecurity best practices
Willingness to participate in brainstorming about websites and software, etc.
Willingness to participate in brainstorming about hardware to purchase
Preferably also understanding how an internet network works.

3. What you’ll gain:
Working in a friendly team. Excellent support. It combines mindfulness, learning to collaborate, and developing skills such as patience, perseverance, concentration, appreciation, etc. As a volunteer, you can participate for free in the Tibetan relaxation day, which is offered online on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You can also participate in the live Kum Nye yoga and meditation classes every Monday through Wednesday from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM at the Nyingma Center. You don’t have to be a Buddhist to volunteer with us, but we do ask for an affinity for Buddhism and the activities of the Nyingma Center.

4. Working hours.
If you are knowledgeable about IT and are available two half-days a week (at least for the first six months) and easily reachable in emergencies, we would be very happy to have you!
