Are you creative, hands-on, social, or simply passionate about making the world a more sustainable place? Then we’d love to work with you!
We are The Slow Fashion Show – a platform dedicated to promoting all things slow fashion. That means encouraging young people to make, repair, upcycle, swap, share, and buy differently. We want to show that sustainable fashion is not only better for people and the planet, but also more creative, more social, and more budget-inclusive – it’s for everyone, regardless of your wallet.
Throughout the year, we organize events across Amsterdam, especially in Amsterdam-Noord, aimed at inspiring young people aged 12 to 20 to explore alternative ways of dressing and expressing themselves.
After a series of successful events – including one at Tolhuistuin – we’re preparing for our biggest event yet. On September 7th, we’ll transform the Skatecafé into a vibrant space filled with young makers, creative musical talent, a massive clothing swap, and hands-on workshops for every level.
To make this happen, we need your help.
We’re looking for all kinds of creative and practical volunteers to join our team before, during, and after the event:
Swap support
Help with sorting, styling, and organizing the clothes at our big clothing swap. Got an eye for fashion? Even better!
Outreach & network
Do you have a strong network among young people in Amsterdam? We’d love your help reaching audiences that don’t always find their way to events like this – but who would absolutely love it.
Workshop support & makers
We already have great workshop leaders on board, but we’re always looking for extra hands. Are you good at repairing clothes, creating inspiring pieces, or sharing your skills? Come inspire others with your creativity!
Hands-on production crew
We also need a few practical, can-do people to help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
What do we offer?
You’ll be part of a fun, diverse, and passionate team of people aged 16 to 56. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and contribute to something that really matters.
Don’t speak Dutch? No problem.
As long as you speak good English, you’re more than welcome to join.
Can’t make it on September 7th, but still interested?
Reach out anyway! We have more events coming up and are always looking for new volunteers.
Sounds good?
Send us a message and let’s find out how you can best be involved.
