Would you like to welcome visitors in a warm, historic, and inviting setting? Luther Museum Amsterdam is seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join its team.
Located in the historic Wittenberg building on Nieuwe Keizersgracht, Luther Museum Amsterdam occupies a landmark dating from 1772. Named after the German town where Martin Luther presented his theses in 1517, the building originally served as an Evangelical Lutheran home for elderly men and women and played a vital role in caring for the poor, the elderly, and orphans.
Today, the museum preserves a remarkable heritage collection. The building itself—featuring its regents’ rooms, central corridor, and church hall—is considered its most important exhibit. The collection also includes paintings by artists such as Breenbergh and Ruysdael, silver objects, and period furnishings. Through these treasures, the museum tells the story of a faith community that forged a new beginning while placing great emphasis on compassion and mutual care.
