A playground as a green oasis in the city

The Playground Amsteldorp is one of the largest and greenest playgrounds in Amsterdam—about one and a half football fields in size. During the renovation, the site has been transformed into a lush play park with over 50 new trees, a willow tunnel, a willow hut, edible shrubs, fragrant flowers, brushwood hedges, and plants with special textures and sounds. This unique natural environment needs loving care—and that’s where you come in!

What will you do?
• Water new plants (especially during warm and dry weeks).
• Assist with shrubs and ground cover plants in autumn.
• Maintain paths, borders, and brushwood piles.
• Weed, prune, and protect seedlings.
• Optionally contribute ideas for educational elements related to greenery.
• Work in a friendly group under the guidance of a green expert.

What do we expect from you?
• Enthusiasm for working outdoors—with or without gardening experience.
• Availability of an average of 2 to 8 hours per week.
• Ability to work independently or together with others in the Green Team.
• Involvement with the playground and a love for nature and play.
