Stap Verder Board is looking for a committed, forward-looking treasurer in a challenging new phase
In Stap Verder, newcomers receive Dutch lessons, sewing lessons and handicrafts, and find information in our social, medical and legal consultation hours.

We are looking for a treasurer who can think creatively about how we can financially facilitate our growth. This voluntary position requires one to two half days per week.

Stap Verder is managed by the Stichting Pastoraal Diaconaal Centrum Bijlmermeer, a partnership of 6 churches, supported by approximately 40 churches in the area. With sixty volunteers, we receive around 400 visitors per year during more than 2000 conversations; many visitors have an African background. People who are temporarily without a place to stay can shower, do their laundry, cook or pick up a ready-made meal, charge their phone and receive mail.

A paid part-time co-ordinator supervises the work. We strive for inclusivity and diversity in our board and team of volunteers. We consider social involvement and a Christian background to be an important motivation for our work.

Our community centre ‘Stap Verder’ in Amsterdam Zuidoost is about to write a new plan for the future. A large donation has created the opportunity to expand our activities.

The treasurer of the Board will have an informing and advisory role in our organisation preparing us for a sustainable future.

The treasurer has the following tasks:
• participating in board meetings and occasionally being present at activities;
• managing the foundation’s bank account and cash;
• managing and checking incoming and outgoing invoices and receipts/payments (including signing payment orders);
• informing the board via quarterly financial reports and overviews;
• drawing up the budget in collaboration with the board;
• providing documents for the annual reports, partly because of subsidy providers and ANBI status;
• occasional contact with subsidy providers and drawing up project budgets in collaboration with the co-ordinator and the fundraising agency that assists us.

We are looking for someone with the following competencies:

• cooperative.

As a volunteer you are eligible for an expense allowance. There is a directors’ liability insurance. A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is requested.
