Enter the world of Rembrandt: become a colleague at the Rembrandt House Museum!

During your shift, you will manage the multimedia desk, which includes the following tasks:

-Issuing, collecting, and cleaning the multimedia tours.
-Informing and instructing visitors on how to use the audio tour, the museum’s layout, and the walking route.
-Providing (general) information about the current exhibition.
-Answering various questions from visitors and assisting them with practical or facility-related problems.

You will be trained by fellow volunteers until you can manage the multimedia desk independently. Often, you can work independently after one or two training shifts.

We expect you to work one half-day shift per week.
You can schedule yourself for this via our scheduling system.

What do we expect from you?

Experience in a service-oriented (volunteer) role, for example in hospitality, tourism, retail, or an arts and culture institution.
Good command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of other languages ​​is a plus.
A passion for helping people and a presentable appearance.
Physically fit enough to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
The ability to remain calm during busy periods.
An interest in Rembrandt, the 17th century, and the art of that period.
Flexible availability.

What does the Rembrandt House Museum offer you?
The Rembrandt House Museum is an inspiring place to work, where you’ll be part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers and museum colleagues.
You’ll receive training from experienced volunteers, a curator-led tour of new exhibitions, a discount in the museum shop, and free admission to the museum, including a few free tickets. We offer a public transport travel allowance from outside Amsterdam (up to a maximum of 55 km one way) to Amsterdam Central Station, second class.

Working hours:

Morning shift: 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Afternoon shift: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

You will work at least one shift per week and one weekend shift per month, and you can schedule yourself for these. The minimum availability is six months.
