Inform visitors about the secrets of this breathtaking park in particular and the city of Amsterdam in general as a volunteer at the Vondelpark Information Point!

As a volunteer at the Vondelpark Information Point (VIP), you are the ultimate host and perform a wide range of tasks to bring the park to life for visitors of all ages from all over the world. You provide them with valuable information about the various activities that Vondelpark has to offer. In addition to providing information about the park, you are also able to answer questions about the city of Amsterdam or quickly look up these answers online if necessary. As a true ambassador of the Vondelpark, you sell (gift) items that contribute to the further development and preservation of the park. You ensure that brochures, maps, and sales materials are always in their place and that the information point is always neat and organized. Furthermore, you are responsible for opening and closing the VIP.

What we are looking for:
• Your customer friendliness is unparalleled, and you always strive for excellent service.
• You have a natural talent for communication and effortlessly connect with people.
• You master the English language.
• Speaking an additional language such as Dutch, German, French, Italian, or Spanish is a valuable asset.
• Do you already have knowledge of the Vondelpark and/or Amsterdam? Great! If not, we will help you.

Before you start, you will be guided by one of our experienced volunteers who have been contributing their expertise to us for years. This way, we ensure that you are well-prepared for the various questions that come your way. Of course, it may happen that you don’t know something occasionally. No problem! It’s impossible to know everything, after all. The VIP also has a computer where you can easily acces information.

The VIP is open from April to September on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Each day we are open has 2 shifts: from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. You are available for at least 1 shift per week. The schedule is created monthly by the coordinator, and you will receive it at least two weeks in advance.

By working in the VIP, you make a valuable contribution to the Vondelpark. We make sure that as a volunteer, you can also enjoy some extras. We organize two cozy gatherings a year, and you will receive an invitation to the annual volunteer appreciation day organized by the Volunteer Center Amsterdam.

Of course, we also take good care of your well-being. There is always delicious fresh coffee, tea, water, and a jar of licorice available for you. This way, you can enjoy a moment of relaxation during your work.
